DLG pays out DKK 135 million to its members and increases focus on sustainable solutions

DLG's Board of Representatives has approved the largest profit declaration in the company's history and pays out a dividend of DKK 135 million to the members of the cooperative. Over the past five years DLG has distributed close to DKK 600 million to the members.

Niels Dengsø Jensen, Chairman of the Board of DLG, says:

“This year, we will pay out a dividend of DKK 135 million to our owners, which corresponds to a return of 11% on the contributed capital. This is the largest dividend in DLG's history, and that fact that we over the past five years have been able to pay out a total dividend of almost DKK 600 million to our members is proof that DLG is a solidly profitable company with good financial ratios, a well-functioning strategy and three strong business areas.”

International results make a positive contribution to the Danish domestic market

“Very good results have been delivered from all business areas this year, and this testifies to the fact that DLG is one of Europe's leading agricultural companies. With our strategy, we have expanded that position in recent years, and at the same time we have focused on costs and strengthened our financial ratios. This means that today DLG is a strong company with both a well-functioning Danish business and a broad portfolio of international activities, which combined creates value for the Danish owners,” says Niels Dengsø Jensen.

DLG's international activities contribute to the majority of the group's earnings, and Niels Dengsø Jensen emphasizes that this has contributed to DLG being able to invest in large Danish projects in recent years. Most recently the Vilofoss factory in Brædstrup, where construction will begin this year, as well as the modernization of two feed factories.

“In the Board of Directors and the Board of Representatives, we have also been part of initiating a major transformation of the Danish business, where the goal is to create a better customer and purchasing experience by focusing on the individual's needs. It is a project that clearly shows that in DLG the business and the owners work together to create the best solutions for the farmers,” says the chairman.

Sustainable solutions in focus

Solutions are also in focus in 2021, as DLG will accelerate its sustainability efforts. With the launch of the group's sustainability plan, a clear direction has been set for how to focus on creating solutions that can help DLG's owners and customers towards a more sustainable future in the years to come.

“In order to be competitive, we must as always be able to offer our customers and owners the best products and solutions in the market, and that applies to sustainability as well. When I talk to my colleagues in agriculture, they emphasize that we should not only focus on the climate goals we have to meet in 10, 20 and 30 years, but even more on finding the solutions and opportunities that will bring us there,” says Niels Dengsø Jensen and continues:

"It is an effort that we are already well under way with, but now we are putting even more weight behind our ambitions. This year, Team in Germany opens the first hydrogen filling station, we start producing green proteins, and we continue the development of sustainable crops as well as resource-efficient feed solutions and ingredients that can help reduce the climate footprint of the individual farm.”
