Niels Dengsø Jensen re-elected as chairman of DLG Group

On Thursday, the 13 women and men who will form DLG's Board of Directors for the next two years were elected, and there are four new faces among them. At the subsequent constitution, Niels Dengsø Jensen was re-elected as Chairman of the Board, while Carl Christian Lei was re-elected as vice Chairman.

Lars-Ole Hjorth-Larsen from Bornholm joins as a new member of the Board of Directors on behalf of the farmer owners, while Niels Olesen from East Jutland resigns.

Carsten Hänel, CEO of Orkla Danmark A/S, is a newly elected external member of DLG's Board of Directors. He has been working in the food and beverage industry for more than 30 years and has been CEO of, among others, KiM’s A/S and Carlsberg Danmark A/S, and since 2018 he has been the CEO of Orkla Denmark.

John Kristensen and Kim Svendsen are new employee-elected members. They take over the board positions from John Smidt Christiansen and Mads Peter Madsen, who had both decided not to stand for re-election.

Niels Dengsø Jensen, chairman of DLG's board, says:

“Soon we will launch our new strategy, where we set ambitious goals for the entire DLG Group. Therefore, I am pleased that we have a strong Board of Directors bringing a wide range of competencies into our company. This puts us in a good position when we continue the development of the DLG Group and create the business of the future, where sustainable solutions will be at the core.”

Continued focus on diversity

Prior to the election to the Board of Representatives and the Board of Directors, DLG Group had made an effort to achieve greater diversity among the owner-elected members. In relation to this, advertisements were placed in the agricultural press and an inspiration meeting was held.

“Diversity is a prerequisite for us to create the best results. Therefore, in recent years we have worked purposefully to get more diversity in our Board of Representatives and Board of Directors. At the last election, we increased the number of women significantly, while this time we have also increased the diversity in relation to age, skills and background,” says Niels Dengsø Jensen.
