Equsana eyes the international market
Despite the crisis-hit in the equestrian segment, DLG's horse feed brand Equsana is setting its sights on international markets.
As Denmark's largest horse feed brand, looking towards international markets is only natural. With enquiries from suppliers from both Iceland and Finland, from 2015 Equsana will be a serious contender on the international stage for horse feed and supplements.
"Select Equsana products are already sold in Sweden through Svenske Foder's suppliers and its own Djur & Natur stores. It is therefore natural that the next step will be to expand exports to interested suppliers from other Nordic countries, explains Marketing Manager Jacob Jessen from Equsana.
Finnish interest in France
From the start of the year, the complete Equsana product range will be introduced onto the Finnish market via a Finnish agent. The Finnish interest was generated immediately after the World Equestrian Championships were held in September 2014.
"We can see that there is a good market for quality horse feed products in the mid-range price bracket - especially our specialist products, such as Iceland (a special complete feed for Icelandic horses), Recover (complete feed for sick or injured horses) and the Flakes series, which is a unique combination of muesli feed and pallets, make Equsana an interesting player internationally," says deputy director Erik Dalsro Jørgensen, who looks forward to future international potential at the top of Denmark's Equsana division.
