The 10th anniversary was marked by Kristian Hundebøll, CEO of the DLG Group, Jens Søndergaard, CEO of Dankalk, Bent Nissen Chairman of the Board in Dankalk and Lars Nielsen from DLG visited the Omya headquarters in Switzerland.
"Omya is an absolute leading calcium carbonate company with 8,300 employees, more than 175 plants in 50 countries and a turnover of 25 billion. They work exclusively with calcium carbonate and focus heavily on Research & Development and the many business opportunities in the calcium carbonate industry. Therefore, they are a great business partner for DLG and Dankalk. We are a leading agriculture company and they are leaders in many other industries. We have had a good and profitable collaboration for 10 years now," says Kristian Hundebøll CEO in the DLG Group.
Jens Søndergaard, CEO of Dankalk, says about cooperation: "Omya wanted to access our calcium carbonate resources in Dankalk. That was the main reason for their involvement with DLG and the ownership back in 2008. Omya is an obvious partner for Dankalk, as they have an impressive knowledge and more than 130 years of experience in producing and refining calcium carbonate."
"They have, among other things, contributed so Dankalk entered a new market, namely calcium carbonate to the concrete building industry. This is a large market for Omya in Southern Europe and a market we expect a part of the coming years in Scandinavia and Germany. In addition, Omya wants to be more involved in the agricultural market. This is a natural consequence for them after the financial crisis in 2008, where they otherwise experienced a decline in their more traditional calcium carbonate markets. Therefore, with our strong agricultural competencies, we are also an obvious partner for Omya."
