Fodermix opens renovated factory

​Swedish feed company FoderMix has undergone a comprehensive renovation, in order to ensure a continued high product quality, a more profitable production and minimisation of salmonella risks. Managing Director of FoderMix, Gunnar Elvin, welcomed all those present to a cold and rainy inauguration. Things soon warmed up inside the tent, however:

"FoderMix was founded in 1993 by Claes Svensson, who is here today, a man with great experience in the Swedish production of feed both as a pork producer and product developer. In 1997, the company built a flexible - and very modern for the time - production plant." 

Record turnover and profits
Gunnar Elvin was appointed as the new managing director of FoderMix in 2004, and the development has subsequently been rapid, with a number of investments implemented.

"The plant has become more cost-effective and the handling of raw materials has become more precise and quality-controlled. This has only been possible thanks to my fantastic colleagues here at FoderMix. Investments and production are vital. But without the employees, we would never have succeeded this well, and over the course of the building work, we have delivered a record turnover and record profits." 

Greatly satisfied with investments
"We are gathered here today to mark the conclusion of a large investment for FoderMix, but we are also gathered to celebrate and to mark the fantastic development that has been created, based upon a fantastic collaboration and teamwork," says Jacob Holm, Group Executive Vice President for DLG and head of the Vilofoss group, and continues:

"The excellent results have been achieved through a good and smart partnership with Svenska Foder, but it has first and foremost been reached through the fantastic teamwork here from you at FoderMix.  You are a small, very lean organisation, which fights together to achieve good, customer-orientated results. It is exemplary." 

FoderMix has seen a particularly fine development since the takeover in 2003. The company has a strong market position as supplier to home-mixers - despite the falling market for the production of pigs in Sweden. Moreover, the close collaboration with Svenska Foder has played an important role in achieving these excellent results.
